What's On in the Hawkesbury

If markets are your thing why not pop into the Richmond Good Food market on Saturday between 8am and 1pm. It showcases the best of the Hawkesbury's local produce, crafts and food and is situated beside the central Richmond Park, Richmond. If you are up at Bilpin (Bilpin District Hall, Bells Line of Road) their markets are on between 10am-12pm on Saturday. It’s a local market featuring food, craft and local fruit and vegetables. On Sunday why not visit one of the Hawkesbury's oldest running markets. It’s on every Sunday 9am-3pm. It features stalls, local craft, clothing, food and entertainment. It always produces a lot of family fun and discovery. You will find it situated throughout the George St Mall, Windsor.

Up at Bilpin the apple picking is now getting into full swing. Pine Crest Orchard will be offering apple picking and sales of Golden Delicious and Fuji apples this weekend from 9am-4pm.  Bilpin Fruit Bowl's farm is open for picking fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables 10am-4pm every Saturday and Sunday. They are offering Red Delicious and Fuji apples plus beautiful fresh figs this weekend.  Jonathans and Bramley Cookers will be available this weekend at Shields Orchard, 2272 Bells Line of Road Bilpin

Don’t forget we have two local Cider Cellar doors whilst you are up there at Bilpin – Hillbilly Cider and Bilpin Cider Co and they are open over the weekend for tastings and sales - it adds another dimension to apple picking.

For something completely different this weekend go to the Hawkesbury Regional Art Gallery, Deerubbin Centre, George Street, Windsor to see the exciting touring exhibition from the National Museum of Australia. Warrakurna is an exhibition of contemporary paintings and sculptures that document a new art movement emerging from the Western Desert community of Warrakurna – 300 kms west of Uluru. Open Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm, free entry.

VIC LogoIf you are in the area drop into the Hawkesbury Visitor Information Centre at 328 Hawkesbury Valley Way, Richmond (opposite the RAAF Base).  We are open 7 days a week and our knowledgeable staff are passionate about our beautiful region.  Come and chat to a local for more ideas to make the most of your Hawkesbury visit!
