Getting to the Hawkesbury

By Car

An hour and half drive, 57 kms north west of Sydney, via the M2 Motorway, Old Windsor Road and Windsor Road.

Thirty minutes drive, 22kms north of Penrith via the Castlereagh or Londonderry Roads.

An hour and half drive, 89kms from Lithgow via Bells Line of Road.

By Train

Catch Sydney Trains Western Line to Richmond - about 1.5 hrs from Central Station. Sydney Trains or phone: 131 500

By Bus

Using the River Ferries

The Hawkesbury River has four free vehicular ferries linking roads and communities.  These ferries are capable of taking bikes, cars, trucks and large vehicles. When using a ferry always follow the ferrymasters loading and unloading instructions.

The ferries operate every day of the year around the clock except when closed for maintenance or in times of flood.  To check on ferry operation and the latest conditions call the Hawkesbury Visitor Information Centre on 02 4560 4620 or alternatively check the Live Traffic NSW website.
