Acai in the Hawkesbury
Acai is a go to sweet treat for so many people! With its balance of being sweet and tart and a perfect base for a variety of toppings (both healthy or not!), it is easy to see why it is so popular.
But the real question is – Where can I find it in the Hawkesbury? Well in our “We’ll tell you where to go!” series we will do exactly that!

Windsor
Windsor has the combination of natural and historical down pat! Not only that but with its variety of cafés, bakeries and stores on George street, you can also find acai.
Wanting a nice lunch in the historical Windsor Mall or stumped between having to go sweet or having to go savoury? Then Simon’s Café is the place for you! A local café with a wide range of food and drink options available you can order yourself an Acai Bowl (pictured) with the possible additions of peanut butter or honey.
Or maybe you’re a major sweet tooth? Then Delicious Desserts is the way to go. With not only self-serve acai but a variety of other frozen yoghurts and soft serves you are spoilt for choice! With 100+ toppings you truly get to make it your own. You can eat in at the store or why not walk down to Thompsons Square and overlook the stunning Hawkesbury River.
Richmond
The township of Richmond has so much to offer! Unique stores ranging from clothing to homewares, and books to antiques, a wide range of parklands and seating to enjoy a picturesque view and relax watching the wildlife of the area.
If you are wanting a little pit stop during your shopping, pop into Juic’d Plus. Offering a wide range of healthy options with smoothies, protein shakes, juices, coffees and of course acai bowls. With multiple bowl options you can go with the company's own Juic’d bowl (pictured) for a health kick or why not a Biscoff bowl for a cheat day.
Why not enjoy an acai while relaxing at Richmond Park? Just across the road you can stop in at Tastify Richmond and get yourself an acai bowl to have while you stroll around exploring its historic nature or stop and take a moment for yourself at one of the picnic tables. If you are with your family there is also a playground complete with its own train station and the oval for a game or two.
Wanting a calmer environment? Well just a short drive away is The Little Olive. With a focus on providing the best of fresh food this little café in Hobartville covers all the sweet and savoury cravings you might have. With an Acai bowl covering all of the wants you may have with toppings of banana, seasonal fruits, granola, coconut, chia seeds and drizzled with some peanut butter. ‘
North Richmond
Are you on your way up or down the mountain? North Richmond could be the perfect pit stop for your trip.
Wanting a coffee with your açai? Head into XS Espresso (pictured), found in the North Richmond shopping village. With a variety of set bowls or a make your own option which you can customise to your hearts content. You can eat in or why not take away and enjoy your açai in Hanna Park, and you could even listen to the 11 Stories From The River Dyarubbin audio walk to learn about history and culture of the area.
Or maybe you are torn between gelato and açai? Why not go somewhere where you can get both, like C9 Chocolate & Gelato! You are able to grab a self-serve açai, add the toppings of your choosing and then just pop it on the scale and pay. It is perfect for when you are only wanting a little bit to satisfy the craving!
