Hawkesbury Library Service invites the community to an engaging author talk with Geoff Cowell, former RAAF and Qantas pilot, as he shares stories from his memoir, From Plastic Parrots to Flying Kangaroos.
Geoff will take the audience on a journey through his experiences flying C-130s and 707s during the 1980s and 90s, offering a fascinating insight into aviation and its deep connection to Richmond and the Hawkesbury community. Mental as Anything formed and the band has grossed more top forty hits than any other Australian act. The band were always on the road touring until December 2019, when lead singer Greedy Smith passed away.
X-Mentals bring together 5 former members of Australia's iconic band, Mental as Anything. This band plays a selection of the Mental's greatest hits including "The Nips Are Getting Bigger", "If You Leave Me Can I Come Too", "Rockn Roll Music", "Too Many Times", "Berserk Warriors", and their greatest hit "Live It Up".
As well as featuring the cream of the 26 Mentals top 40 hits, each member has worked with who's who of Australian rock, including Dragon, Jenny Morris, The Dynamic Hypnotics, The Whitlams, Crowded House, Boom Crash Opera, The Models and Renee Geyer. Hits from some of these acts are included in the evening.

Event details

Western Districts Cat Club is prowling into the Hawkesbury Showground to stage a one-of-its-kind Cat Show.
This is a wonderful day out where you can see many of the state's top pedigree breeds of cats including Exotics, Persians, large Main Coons, golden-eyed Burmese, floppy Rag Dolls, tiny baby kittens, along with Bengals and Orientals.
Local Breeders will be available to speak to visitors during the day and formal judging is held in the morning and visitors can watch each of these breeds judged.
This is an excellent opportunity to meet with the Exhibitors and Breeders, ask questions and learn about different breeds of cats.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
