Country markets at Sydney's Doorstep

There’s nothing like a vibrant market - browsing the stalls, finding treasures and treats that you can’t get from retail stores. There’s no shortage of country style options for those that love a market right here in the Hawkesbury.

WalnutsThe Richmond Good Food Market is held 8am to 1pm every Saturday morning in Richmond Park. While the name suggests a focus on food, there’s usually a seasonal range of locally grown flowers as well as locally produced soaps, resin boards and artwork. There are also coffee and food vendors there to tie you over.  Being so close to the children’s play area, it makes a great morning out for a family, or just meander along Richmond’s historic main street and enjoy the café’s and shops

quinceBilpin Hall also hosts a Saturday morning market between 10am and midday. The Bilpin Community Market sells locally grown and made produce and products including, but not limited to bread, organic vegetables, in season fruit, preserves, honey, crafts and wool. While you are in Bilpin indulge in an apple pie, visit the orchards (pick your own available seasonally) or taste test the local ciders.

EggsThe Lions Market is held at the Hawkesbury Showground bi-monthly on a Saturday from 7:30am. For upcoming dates click here. The market is held undercover making it an attractive option to attend rain, hail or shine. Stalls include new and used items including plants, tools, furniture, bric a brac, produce and plenty more. All profits from the market go to Lions Foundations to assist the community.

CupcakeThe Windsor Mall Sunday Market is one of the most well-known and longest run markets in the Sydney region. The market runs every Sunday from 9am until 3pm, right in the heart of Windsor. There’s a huge variety of stalls selling everything from produce and plants to dogcoats, baby goods, jewelry and craft, the variety changes each week.  And while you are in Windsor grab a coffee or bite to eat from one of the local shops.

Other seasonal and specialty markets are held throughout the year across the Hawkesbury region; including Christmas markets in November and December. Check out the What’s On page for details about other markets and events.
