Craft Alive

Lady holding up fabricCraft Alive is returning to the Hawkesbury Showground this month on Thursday 29th, Friday 30th and Saturday 31st May 2025.

In between attending the craft fair's workshops and shopping at the amazing stalls, there's an excellent opportunity to embrace our local community of artists and makers and explore our beautiful Hawkesbury region.

Here's a few suggestions to keep your day filled and to make the most of your time here...

Day 1:
A great day to explore local galleries without the weekend crowds, visit the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery supporting Regional and NSW artists. Make your way to the Hawkesbury Remakery, a hub for makers and creators. Visit the nearby Tasman Clayworks for handmade pottery and quality supplies, and the Peter Browne Collection Studio/Gallery for some iconic Aussie art. Don’t forget to grab a coffee and some scrapbook-worthy pics Windsor’s many cafes including Second Home CafeSimons Café, and George St Loft Café.

Head to Richmond where you’ll find Yvonne West Art Studio, continue to North Richmond to peruse Raggedy Bits Emporium, venture onward to Kurrajong where you can dine at The Village Kitchen while overlooking the gorgeous landscape which hosts a variety of artwork to view and buy.

After your belly is full, cross the road and fill up your bag with high quality yarn from Fibre Frolic.

If you enjoy working by yourself or with a small group of friends, take one of our self-guided Heritage Highlights tours around Richmond or Windsor, recreating the sights in your own unique vision.

It’s time to journey to Freemans Reach for unique pieces at Marcia Rea Fine Art Gallery and Purple Noon Gallery.

Nearby Streeton Lookout is an excellent place to have a picnic, soak up the inspirational view and get in a quick sketch or painting.
